The Royal Yak is by far the largest casino in Cancun when you consider floor space. The main casino is in the former cinema location and hence the theaters have been converted into a sports book room and the other a beautiful multi-tiered entertainment hall for VIP performances. The casino is located in the extreme south side of the mall. You have to take the escalator to the second floor or there is an entrance outside on the south face but well hidden. There is a full bar with HD TV's above. The Royal yak has a full food menu prepared by two full time chefs. It is air conditioned, clean and has exceptional service. The Royal Yak offers a full complement of Vegas styled table games including craps, blackjack & roulette. I found the casino to be very clean and the air conditioning settings quite comfortable.
The entire facility is fairly new and the decor is beautiful. The bar is full service and has a small area of high tables. Two large High Definition Wide Screen TVís are on the back wall. Beer and drink prices are reasonable and the service is fast and courteous.
As you walk in the main entrance on the second level the main casino floor opens up in front. Table games are straight ahead and to the left about 80 or so slots and an electronic blackjack table. Dealers are not allowed in Mexican casinos but some of the card games have a Host/Dealer to moderate the game and keep the action moving.
The sports book room is one of the old theaters and seats about 100-200 people. The entire wall where the screen was situated in covered completely with High Def TV's. I lost count at 30. The sports book cashier is located beneath the TV's in front and is easily accessible. All worldwide sports bets are offered as well as simulcast dog and horse racing. The odds seemed to run close to the Vegas line which was no big surprise.
If you are a slots fan then the Royal Yak will quickly become one of your favorite Cancun hang outs. 350+ slots in 4 different rooms make the Royal yak slots heaven. In the rear is a 100+ slots smoking room with an electronic roulette wheel under glass. The main casino has another 100 or so slots and there is a separate slots room in the back as well as downstairs.
Bingo The downstairs bingo hall seats about 400+ gamers and dinner is available at your table. A schedule of games was not available at the time of this writing but we will update you with new information as we receive it.
